Ich kenne dirand sehr gut! Sehr schöner band! Jedoch das ferling des grossartigem Pariser interior designers wird nicht 100 prozent transportiert .... das Papier ist nicht wertig genug.
I'd been looking forward to this monograph for a while. Dirand's work is stunning and diligently composed - unfortunately, the same attention to detail has not gone into the book. While aesthetically compelling, the photographs seem (in the true sense of the work) lacklustre and dull. It's not actually the angles or the photos themselves that are problematic, but the fact that they are printed on matte paper, which gives them a grainy look, as though the lens was never fully focused. All in all, I was disappointed enough to send it back. Simply because I enjoy Dirand's work a lot, I was frustrated every time I was leafing through the pages. Here's hoping that, perhaps, one day there will be a reedition printed on a different type of paper.
